How it works

Coaching Services

Athletes are coached on a month-to-month basis or in 6-month blocks. Each athlete receives a custom training plan based upon his or her experience, strengths, performance limiters, and availability to train.

An initial meeting between coach and athlete occurs prior to startup of these services.

I started working with Katherine in 2009 to prepare for my first Ironman. I had never used a coach before and had no idea what to do or what to expect on race day. Through her training plans and guidance, I not only became an Ironman under my goal time, but also completed two half Ironmans in my first year working with her. I think that Katherine is one of the best coaches out there. I first met her when I was the campaign manager with Team In Training, and she coached our team for St. Anthony’s triathlon. She took a group that included participants of every skill level and got them ALL safely across the finish line with everyone being happy with his/her results. I was so impressed with her that I hired her when I decided to complete my first half ironman. It went so well that I was back on board with her when I decided to do Ironman Wisconsin in 2011. I think one of her best qualities is her ability to listen to her participants and to allow you to have input into your training program.

I started with one month because I had no idea what I was getting into. I purchased 3 private sessions and one month coaching program. After the 2nd pool lesson I paid for 10 private lessons in advance and 6 months pre-paid and have not looked back. When I started with her I could not swim 100 yards, but she had me swimming a mile in less than a month.
Katherine always responds to my emails, texts, and phone calls if I need specific answers. I went from someone who never swam in a pool before…to doing a half ironman in a thirteen month timeframe.
